Firefox layout broken- any workarounds in the mean time?

Using Polymer 1.1, in Chrome the elements are centered when the screen is resized smaller correctly. But in Firefox, they shift to the left.
I have filed a issue about it in https://github.com/PolymerElements/iron-flex-layout/issues/34 with the code segment.
In the meantime, is there anything I can do to make the layout correct in Firefox without breaking the layout in Chrome?
