This is the correct functionality: in Polymer 1.0 (0.8+ actually) bindings must span the entire content of the tag.

I am unable to use the attribute of an element individually, every time i have to enclose it with a HTML tag.

example :
<polymer-element name="hello-world" attributes="owner">
<template>
<p>This is {{owner}} color-picker.
    He likes the color</p>
</template>
<script>
Polymer({
is:"hello-world"
});
</script>
</polymer-element>

this will render --  This is {{owner}} color-picker

But when i enclose it with a span or any other html tag it works correctly.
<template>
<p>This is <span>{{owner}}</span> color-picker.
     He likes the color</p>
</template>

This will render correctly with the given input. Is this the functionality? or if am i am doing anything wrong.
