How to create Google material design menu like ?

Hi,
I try to put a core-menu inside the core-icon-button but the menu is not show. I know that something is missing but I don´t know what.
How can a create a menu like the website from material design ?
I was able to reproduce the header but I dont know how to show a menu when I click on the button .
This is my html

core-scaffold should get you the basics. Here's a demo:

Instead of core-header-panel, you can swap in core-header-scroll-panel to do the banner scroll effects.
