paper-menu-button dropdown overlay issue (polymer 1.0)

I'm sure this has been noted by other Polymer 1.0 developers, but I just need a little CSS help as I've tried playing around with z-index and overflow CSS settings to no avail.  (I'm still no CSS expert)
