from our very own Kurt

We are alive and this is life as we know it

We experience our lives through this tiny window
inside this enormous electromagnetic spectrum.
It is tiny because our world is seen
through this narrow band of visible light waves
and heard through an equally narrow band of audio sound waves.

Yet within these limits  we can hear all other animals
and the world of machines we have created,
plus the sound of the human voice
and the music we humans can create.

Nevertheless we have continued to expand
what we can see and hear
by expanding the height and depth of our vision
and understanding through our social contract
of historical accumulation.

Here we are only limited by our belief system
that can narrow our minds
through these primitive religious beliefs.
These are the beliefs that were given to us
by our parents and ancestors,
and the social historical world around us
as we grew into it as babies, toddlers and youths.

Our eyes have some limits that we have overcome
through our collective acceptance of education
so that although the world around us appears flat
based on what we can see from our mountain tops,
we accept that it is a large globe that is so big it appears flat.

And through the beauty that we have created
as humans in art, music and science,
we can see that there is something more to our nature
than the flat and dull that at times seems to surround us.

We can know the infinite worlds
through our telescopes and microscopes,
and read the infinite from our social history,
and hear the infinite in the silence
inside the quiet of our relaxed minds.

All of this greatness is reflected in our world
when we can see past the belief systems
imposed by religions and blind ignorance.
By the ridiculous blindness of our acceptance
that we humans are the center of the Universe
and that GOD must look like us,
a He not a She GOD.

These very primitive beliefs lie at the bottom
of our concept of human life,

egocentric, flat and male dominant.

Perhaps it is time to have a look at ourselves,
to look for a god within us,
to light us up.
