Official DesertFest 2021 announcement!!

Join Petr (AG6EE) Barry (K7BWH) and a good (and growing!) number of other popular Western rovers/activators/6m/FFMA/General VHF+ interest operators and I as we take on the 'old West' at the Nevada Hotel and Casino in Ely, NV May 21st-23rd 2021. https://www.hotelnevada.com/

Come hang out for a weekend of swapping lies, tall tales and stories of the one that got away.
Bring the XYL. Ely is a fun old west vibe town. Plenty of slots and little places to spend money.

This is not a structured event. There is no itinerary, no talks, no presentations.

Come as you are and shoot the breeze with like minded folks.

COVID safety means we'll be spending a lot of time outside for the 'rover show and shine'.

There will be portable EME stations operating on 6m/2m/1296, 6 meter rovers and possibly more. After Desertfest there will be at least a few rare grid activations as some folks head home (from what I hear).

There are other closeby hotels in town if Hotel Nevada is already booked out.

YES, This IS happening!! Give away swag has been ordered and the stickers are printed!

Hey, I know there's no itinerary as such, no demos, and we’re allergic to schedules.
But just for fun... I'll run meteor scatter on Sunday morning 8-10 am, May 23, and people can come join me and see how my station works (or not). But it’s not a talk or presentation! lol

Greetings all.

Slight update for DesertFest 2021. After seeing all the 6M demos Friday night of the event, the Arizona VHF Society is happy to announce that arrangements have been made with the Nevada hotel to host a hospitality and reception room Saturday night for DesertFest 2021 at the Nevada hotel from 6 - 10 pm. Light food and refreshments will be provided. We have reserved the Frontier room (holds 40) that will have plenty of space for lively discussion and tall tales while still maintaining distancing options for those in attendance. We look forward to seeing and meeting those that will be making the trip.
