Hi,
I've downloaded Plover 4.0 (dev version) and it's working fine...except that the star key isn't working now for some reason. I'm on Windows 10 for the moment.
All the other strokes are fine, but when I hit the asterisk key, I just get "troke".
It's not deleting the previous stroke.

troketroketroketroke  It's the same for both sides.

How can I fix this?

I think it's an erroneous dictionary entry! Search the dictionary for * and see if you can find it and delete it.

2 options:
- if you have not modified commands.json / main.json, update them: stop Plover, delete your copies (use the Plover's File menu entry "open config folder" to find where they are located), and restart Plover
- remove the '*' mapping to "{^}troke" in main.json, or change it to "=undo"

Cheers,

Thanks all -- deleting the entry in the dictionary did work for me.
And such fast responses -- it really saved me hours of anxiety and not-getting-work-done. THANK YOU!!!!

Me again -- I cannot for the life of me get any commands to work! Read and re-read the dictionary format. Tried copying existing commands and modifying them. No luck.
I've tried things like {#Control(semicolon)} which is a windows 10 issue (pops up the Emoji keyboard, yeah, thanks a lot Windoze)
But switching to things like {#equal}, when the hotkey in Inqscribe is "=", doesn't work either.
I desperately need a timestamp shortcut for Inqscribe. Does anyone have one that would work?

Hi there, so this is a while back that you wrote this, but I am just catching up on my email from this server. I use the original Plover -- yeah, I know, crazy, huh? But I love it. And I'm so used to it. I have tried the other versions, but I like the fact that this is the most compact. I am not sure that you can even get this as a download any longer. My suggestion that is you delete the Plover version you have and reload the last one that worked, but you have to remember to delete plover.cfg file. That is in your computer's AppData. That is in the directory: C:\Users\<yourusername.\AppData\Local\plover\plover.
Deleting that .cfg file will enable you to clear your computer to add the version that works for you. That will not delete your dictionary (.rtf dictionary).
     Hope that helps.
     Kind regards,
     Mark
