Ergodox performance

I am wondering what steno typing on Ergodox does to fingers and thumbs when they strike the gaps between keys. How fast has anyone typed steno on the Ergodox EZ?

I have put on G20 keycaps which are really good at reducing the gaps into which small fingers sink, until I try -TD. The gap is enormous! My whole little finger fits in it.
