On behalf of Mike MacCracken and Soumitra Das I’m happy to announce that we created an in person event that takes place Tuesday, April 29 from 1 PM to 2:30 PM in Washington DC at 1400 16th St. NW, ironically just a few blocks directly north of the White House.

I’m sure that both the topic and the nearby location will result in any number of Trump administration officials attending.

(did I really just write that?)

I’m writing to ask you to save the date if you are in the DC area or can get to DC that day.

Please circulate this save the date notice to friends and colleagues as well.

We would like to get as many people as possible to attend the panel discussion with Mike and Soumitra that I will moderate.

We could also use one or two folks to assist us at the event so please let me know if you’re able and willing to do so.

Here’s the title:

Restoring a Healthy Climate: Nature Inspired Interventions to reduce global warming and restore hope

Once we get a sign off from the organizers of the DC Climate Week I will post a link that will enable you to register.

Thanks,

Herb

Hi Herb,

I hope that "nature inspired" includes Stratospheric Aerosol Injection (SAI), inspired by the eruption of Mount Pinatubo in particular.  There are so many people (and conferences) who/which exclude SAI because it seems unnatural.  Certainly SAI is excluded from HCA consideration and perhaps NOAC too, given the "Natural" in its name. I am glad to see that SAI is included in the Cambridge event on "Arctic repair" coming up at the end of June [1].  SAI is the one technique which gives me hope that we still have a chance to refreeze/repair the Arctic and thereby prevent catastrophic climate change and sea level rise later this century.  SAI is also our best bet* to reverse climate change and restore a healthy climate for the young people of today to enjoy, IMHO.

Cheers, John

* Other cooling techniques can help, of course.

Hi John,

While Mike, Soumitra and I haven’t discussed what we will be presenting in great detail SAI will certainly be in the mix.
