Hi all,

So, this is a long overdue post. I have to admit, I haven't worked on pki.io for a couple of months now as I've been trying to keep some momentum going with ThreatSpec.

At the moment I'm having to refactor some of the node creation code to accommodate the management of remote servers. I've tested the SSH stuff, and that all works, but I need to change some of the UI and the node and org controllers. Refactoring in burst of 30 minutes on a train isn't very easy, hence putting it off.

Anyway, my plan is to start working on it again, so I'll post again once I've got something working. Then it would be a case of writing a basic node "agent" (doesn't even have to run as a service) to create and manage the private keys and certs remotely.

As always, happy to hear thoughts etc.

Cheers,
Fraser

Hi Fraser,
nice to see you back!
Is it not possible to "slice" the refactoring effort so we can split the work among ourselves?
Best Regards,
Athanasios

Probably. It would involve getting your hands dirty in the heart of the code, but hopefully the last refactor has helped make things a bit cleaner (but still some way off something half decent).

I'll tidy up the stuff I've done so far to the point that it at least builds, even if functionality is missing, and I'll create issues etc for the stuff that I think needs to be done.

It would probably be worth documenting the code layout a bit too.
