What does "transfer technology process"  mean exactly? Who will continue the helpdesk/support for Pinnacle?
In my country Philips did not tell us anything about Pinnacle being tranferred to Elekta, they just admitted that Philips has "an agreement" with Elekta, and Pinnacle won't have future development because all the projects in this field will be centered in the Elekta TPS.

So far the (occasional) IT issues with Pinnacle were not solved by the Pinnacle clinical specialist, they have engineers for this that give support to other Philips systems too. Elekta staff are not familiar with Unix or Pinnacle, so I think it would be very difficult and troublesome for the users if Pinnacle is transfered to Elekta (unless there is a company fusion/absorption)

It's a very, very, very confusing situation for me!! Officially Philips ended the sales of Pinnacle in Brazil and sent us to talk to Elekta! Elekta knows about technology transfer between companies, but for now, only in other products like a merger between Tasy and Mosaiq! Maybe there is a list of products to transfer and pinnacle is the last one on that list!

Hello Pinnacle List members,

Recently there was a poster presented at the RSS conference describing
a 5 mm shift and merge method with MC2/MapPhan in SNC Patient that doubles the resolution
of detectors and encourages planning for PTVs less that 2 cm in diameter.
Has anyone experimented with this technique?
Would you be comfortable performing QA with an MC2/MC3 with Mapphan
for intracranial lesions of the same dimensions or just for thoracic lesions?
Are you concerned with the size/dimensions of your patient vs. your phantom of choice
In general what is the smallest PTV you would plan in Pinnacle w/ VMAT/IMRT
and what are your QA tools for MLC based stereotactic planning (no cones)?

Thanks,

Savvas
