Evening all,
Todays question is what width tapes and gap seals everyone is using for their flaps, ailerons, elevator and rudder because I want to place my order and have them on hand ready to install, if the weather ever warms up around here, I plan on ordering from Wings and Wheels. From what I understand I will need the following items but I'm not sure of the best width for each.
1. What width tape for the gap seal on the underneath side of the flaps? The old tape
was cloth like a surgical tape; is this the still the best or is there something better?
2. What width double sided tape to use to install the Mylar gap seals at the ailerons,
elevator and rudder?
3. What width pre-curved Mylar gap seal?
4. What width safety tape to seal the leading edge of the Mylar to the wing?
5. The rudder uses a combi-tape for a gap seal where the leading edge is zig-sag, Is this
still the best gap seal to use?
Do you recommend waxing the surfaces before applying these tapes and seals?
Thanks,
Keith
