VCFSW 2023 & PiDP-10?

Hello all,

I was reviewing the schedule for VCFSW (it will be 20 min from my house!) and planning when I will sneak away from my ham radio Field Day commitments and noticed there is a table labeled PiDP-10 in the exhibition area - what is that about?

Does anyone know anything about who booked the table & what they will be showing/offering?

I plan to sneak away to attend the pocketerm II build workshop and the 8031 computer build (assuming it has a programming language I like), but that piDP-10 booth has my curiosity peaked.

Pretty sure it's Oscar with his new toy.

If you Google for it, you'll find plenty of information. Basically a
KA-10 replica front panel, and driven by simh (I believe) behind the scene.

Johnny is correct. Oscar is flying in with his final prototype of the PiDP-10 for the VCF SW next weekend. We’ll also have a couple PiDP-11s and a real PDP-11/05 running RT-11 with one of Joerg Hoppe’s UniBones.

Yes, Oscar will be there with the prototype PiDP-10.  He, Mark Matlock and I have 3 tables side by side for showing off various DEC related items.  Oscar with the PiDP-10, Mark with a PiDP-11 and a real PDP-11/03 and I'll have a MicroVAX 3100.  We will also have various terminals - VT LAN40 and a VT420, perhaps more.

Note that Oscar will NOT be selling any PiDP-11 or 10's (as far as I know)  The 10 is scheduled for later this summer and I think a batch of 11's just went out so I would not expect more until July sometime.

There will be a couple other people with PiDP-11's and the Usagi Electric guy is supposed to be there too.  Not sure what he will have.

I'm thinking of driving up from SoCal... anxious to see the PDP-10, would be fun to meet up for a PiDP-8/10/11 group lunch or something.

Yes! I will carry the PiDP-10 prototype on the plane tomorrow to show it at the VCF SW. Hopefully, the flight does not get rescheduled for a second time tomorrow :-)

There will be a lot of DEC things, so a visit is well worth it. Hope to meet some of you!

Is it against group rules to have someone there take a 'few' pictures to share with this group?  Might be fun to see what's there, never having been there, say nothing of heard about such a gathering.  Dale

I will happily take a few photos while I attend the event. I won't likely make any presentations, but booth photos should be easy.

I'll share Google photo albums, no need to clog up group with photos.

There may be some media coverage (is hackaday considered "media"?), and I'd be surprised if event organizers don't create a photo album if some kind to help promote VCFSW 2024...
