Hi,

I am currently trying to generate a pseudo-metagenome utilizing 16S amplicon sequencing data. This data has already been searched in QIME2 which output the OTU assignments. Does PICRUSt2 output NCBI taxonomy identifiers? I am not sure if the Metagenome-prediction or Sequence-placement function generates this specific information. I am looking for a tool that can either use the dna sequences and/or the OTU classifiers to grab the highest level classifier so that I can find their proteomes in UniParc.

Thank you,

Katie

Hi there,

No PICRUSt2 does not assign taxonomy or return the closest matching genome. You might instead want to use the taxids that you can get by converting the taxonomic classifications from QIIME2.

Cheers,

Gavin
