Issues with Picowatch

Hi,

Thanks for the fixes in the latest images!

Sorry to report a new issue: I am running into trouble as soon as Picowatch is activated with the latest image. It's the first time I am using it with 3.3 version, so I am not able to tell whether this is a new problem or not.

Descriptions (playing white)

Issue#1: First bad move is reported, but the next bad move or blunder is no longer reported. The detection may resume sometime afterwards, but then fall into the second issue.

Issue#2: First blunder detection is completely announced by the voice (threat & recommended move), but only the threat is displayed, not the recommendation. Then the game seems stuck. The black move is eventually voiced out, but not displayed & the game remains completely frozen, requiring to stop/start picochess service to recover. It seems systematic from the different attempts I did, even from a fresh image.

Issue#2 happened to me as well last week. I thought it was me not understanding well how the whole Tutor works, but now after your thread, I confirm I experienced the same.

Problems are most probably caused by the new translation file. In one of my system with the older translation files it still works correctly…

The picochess.log should show where the error is. I'll try to duplicate the problem now.

If this is the case, looks like that I did more damage to PicoChess than good things.

We may want to revert to the previous translate.py, and keep my new file in "test" for some time, until we all decide it's good to go..

Bingo. I put back the previous translate.py & it's working again. No worries, there is no progress without error ;-)

'systemctl status picochess.service' shows the issue.

This should fix it (line 897 was changed).

Please test.

Tests w/ stockfish & DGT board (rev.II), new translate.py on top of otherwise untouched 3.3 Wine image:

bad move : fix is ok

questionable move : ok

blunder : fix is ok

Tested also with takeback actions: all is fine

I did a closer check of the translate.py file and there are no other issues that I can see. I did make a couple of changes but they wouldn't be noticeable to anyone (I reverted a few English web text entries back to "" where the web text was the same as the large text - large text is used when web text is empty anyway). I'm just compressing the archives (which takes about 90 mins) and will make a post when they are uploaded. The latest translate.py file is attached.
