I have a question for the community: Do you know if there are any more ready-made opening books available for download?
I've read that it's possible to create your own opening books, but with my MacBook, my current knowledge, and without PGN files, that still seems a bit out of reach for now.
However, maybe some of these openings already exist within this group?
My goal, for example, is to practice a specific opening exclusively.

I did it with ChessBase and then converted the .ctg file to .bin.

I think this might help you when searching for information...

In addition to converting a chessbase book into a different format, you may want to Google things like

"Polyglot chess books download"

Doing so, I found at least 2 / 3 sites from which you can download Polyglot chess books for free.

In terms of converting books from one format to another (including from/to CTG and from/to BIN formats), I'd recommend having a loot at the utility called JJA Chess Book Converter.

Hope this helps.

Hello everyone,

take a look at www.startingpawn.com

There you will find individual openings sorted by ECO, as well as complete packs.

Hello
Thanks for sharing.
Could you please convert these study books into a readable format, like ChessBase or Arena Chess? The current format isn't very useful for study. The goal of this conversion is to make the content practical for use.

Hi Oswald—thanks for the feedback!

The primary goal of Starting Pawn is to provide opening books for practical use with physical e-boards, which is why I publish Polyglot (.bin).

For study, each opening page includes a per-ECO viewer that shows the exact move sequences.

You can also open the .bin books in Lukas Chess to see the moves they contain.

Additional formats like ChessBase (.ctg) are on the roadmap and will be added once there is sufficient demand.

Best regards

Tobias
