Dear Organizers

Soem years ago there was this option to submit an extended paper to a special issue after the physionet challenge. Will there be something similar this year?

Dear Challengers,

As announced at CinC, we encourage everyone to write extended journal articles on their Challenge entries to submit to a focus issue in the Journal 'Physiological Measurement'.
Please see the open call here: https://tinyurl.com/pmea-chagas

N.B.:
1. Please finish your CinC paper first! Shortly, we will be emailing you corrections according to our rubric - see here: https://physionetchallenges.org/2025/papers/cinc_paper_checklist.pdf

2. We will allow you one (or maybe two) more shot(s) at the test data if you send us a draft of your extended article and note what has changed in this updated algorithm.

3. We strongly suggest you send us a draft of your paper before you submit. We can help recommend changes to help improve your chances of publication.

4. You do not have to have entered the Challenge to submit an article to the focus issue, but if you want to report on the Challenge data, then you must submit your algorithm to us to be run on the test data, and you must report the test performance very clearly to enable a direct comparison with other algorithms.

5. The focus issue scope is 'Detection of Neglected Tropical Diseases from the Cardiac Signals', which is much broader than the Challenge. In other words, you don't have to confine your articles to the challenge data, Chagas, or the ECG.

Thanks again, and best of luck
