aperture in SECONDARY_CONTINUUM

Hi,
 I am trying to run the multiple continuum model with a specified aperture as a HDF5 dataset. It prints the message "ERROR: APERTURE in MATERIAL_PROPERTY,SECONDARY_CONT is only supported for SLAB and NESTED_CUBES", even though I have a SLAB geometry type. After changing the line:  915 https://bitbucket.org/pflotran/pflotran/src/614a23bd3e65b80eb757681f2e72565f4e8e22c5/src/pflotran/material.F90#lines-915 :
 if (.not.is_nested_spheres) then to if (is_nested_spheres) then
, and recompile, model runs. But it still complains, when I want to run model with the aperture field as a HDF5 gridded dataset - is it possible to use dataset for this?

Hi Ondrej,

 

Thank you for catching that input keyword error. I will go ahead and fix the error message.

 

Currently, datasets for the aperture of the secondary continuum model are only supported for the keyword EPSILON. You can convert the aperture dataset to epsilon by the following formula: EPSILON = APERTURE/(APERTURE+LENGTH), where LENGTH is the keyword used in the secondary continuum block. You can also specify the LENGTH as a dataset.

 

Also, I would recommend using the latest version of master to run the secondary continuum as a bug fix was implemented concerning the mass balance.

Thanks Rosie, after the EPSILON conversion you suggested, my model accepts also dataset.
