Hi,

I was profiling my using perfetto ui and was using gpu work period as one of the metrics.
Initially it worked fine, but at some point it stopped to show it in the traces.
I see just blank space instead. I checked the trace file and the actual gpu work period traces are there, with timestamps and so on. I didn't change anything else except added couple of other traces. But now removed them, however "gpu work period" is still blank in perfetto. What could be the problem?

Regards,

Stan

Please provide an example trace demonstrating the problem. It's very very difficult to debug these sorts of issues without a trace file we can test with.

Seconded. It's possible it's a regression, but please provide a test trace to help us diagnose the issue.

I'm actually seeing the work period slices showing up just fine

The problem is that they are just all at the very very end of the trace all scrunched up. You need to zoom in a lot to the end.

In fact, what you seem to have here is some sort of clock synchronization problem: your Chrome events are being emitted far far before all the ftrace events and it's not at all clear to me why that would be. Something very weird is going on that I've never seen before.

You might need to binary search changes to your config to see where the issue is coming from (i.e. removing pieces of the Chrome config etc).

I've replied already here with trace attached.
Attaching once again just in case.
