Dear all,

Please find here and attached a new IUCN Issues Brief on Human-Wildlife Conflict. IUCN Issues Briefs provide key information on selected issues central to IUCN’s work. They are aimed at policy-makers, journalists or anyone looking for an accessible overview of the often complex issues related to nature conservation and sustainable development.

Please feel free to share this issues brief with colleagues who may find it of interest.

Best wishes,

Dear Bayingana,

Thank you for your email. You will find some resources on insurance in our compensation & other financial instruments page of our human-wildlife conflict & coexistence library. IIED has also been working to facilitate private markets to insure small-scale farmers for damage caused by human-wildlife conflict and you might find some further resources here: https://www.iied.org/livelihoods-insurance-elephants-life-kenya-sri-lanka

Best wishes,
