The Duke of Westminster and Miss Olivia Henson are delighted to announce they are engaged to be married. The couple, who have been together for two years, recently became engaged at the Duke’s family home at Eaton Hall in Cheshire. Members of both their families are absolutely delighted with the news.

Hugh Richard Louis Grosvenor, 7th Duke of Westminster (b 29 January 1991), son of Gerald Cavendish Grosvenor, 6th Duke of Westminster and Natalia Ayesha Phillips,  daughter of Lt-Col Harold “Bunny” Phillips and a grand-daughter of Maj-Gen Sir Harold and Lady Zia Wernher, of Luton Hoo in Bedfordshire; Lady Zia was in turn the daughter of Grand Duke Michael of Russia.

Good news,but lets keep the champagne on ice until they produce a male heir.Edward Fitzgerald(hp to the Duke of Leinster) and the Earl of Arundel have produced 2 daughters each, and no sign of sons yet.Since Edward is the last "real" heir to the Leinster title, this is not encouraging.And neither of the Duke of Sutherland's heirs have produced sons-instead 7 daughters.Unless that changes the Sutherland title is destined for extinction.

Grand Duke Michael Mikhailovich of Russia(1861-1929) was a younger cadet grandson of Tsar Nicholas I,while his wife Sophie of Merenberg,Countess de Torby(1868-1927),was the dau. of Prince Nikolaus Wilhelm of Nassau (1832-1905) by his morganatic marriage to Natalia Alexandrovna Pushkina,Countess von Merenberg(1836-1913),dau. of Alexander Pushkin,the famous Russian poet(1799-1837).

If I am reading the chart at gothanjou.blog correctly, the Duke and his bride to be are both 6x great grandchildren of the 5th Earl of Carlisle (making them 7th cousins) and 7x great grandchildren of the 4th Duke of Beaufort (making them 8th cousins).

A few notes on Olivia Henson's paternal line: Father, Rupert Cornelius Brooke Henson (b. 1962, reg. Howden, Yorks, 3 Q 1962), son of Thomas John Brooke Henson and his first wife, Jennifer Caswell Cornelius.

The Tatler, February 1961, published a photograph of Jennifer Cornelius, daughter of L[eonard] R. Cornelius [and Betty Caswell Cornelius], Stamford Bridge House, York, engaged to marry Thomas J.B. Henson,

son of D.B. Henson of Southern Rhodesia and Mrs. E. Atherton Smith, Northwood. The Henson-Cornelius marriage was reg. Howden, Yorks, 3 Q 1961. The Cornelius-Caswell marriage was reg. Coventry 3 Q 1937;

birth of Jennifer Caswell Cornelius reg. York, 1 Q 1939. Best I can scrounge up online; I'm not exactly "G.Willis" when it comes to this stuff ...
