He m 2009 Sarah Elizabeth b 1977 d of Hon Angus Grenfell MACLAY b 1945 (s of 2nd Baron MACLAY KBE 1899-1969 and Nancy Margaret 1908-2014 d of Robert Coventry GREIG of Hall of Caldwell, Uplawnmoor, Renfrewshire), and his 1st w the Hon Elizabeth Victoria BAILLIE 1950-1986 d of 3rd Baron BURTON 1924-2013 and his 1st wife - and 2nd cousin - (Elizabeth) Ursula Forster d 1993 d of Capt Anthony Forster WISE. Their other sons: Donald Fergus Ralph b 2010, Finnian Angus Peter b 2012 and Ossian Francis Robert b 2018, and dau Rose b 2014.

served in . African War 1901- 02 (medal, five clasps), and in Great War 1914 (despatches seven times); Commander Order of
