From the Telegraph of 22 Aug 2020: Mr R.E. Gascoigne and Miss F.E. Crowhurst - The engagement is announced between Ralph, son of Mr and Mrs William Gascoigne, of Stanton Harcourt, Oxfordshire, and Florence, daughter of Mr and Mrs James Crowhurst, of Newmarket, Suffolk.

Ralph Edward (b 1989 reg Q2 Oxfordshire) s of William Harcourt Crisp GASCOIGNE (b 1955), scion of the gentry family of that name of Sanders, and of the HARCOURT viscounts and EBURY barons etc, by his c1980 m (reg Q1 London) to Susan (Susy) Alexandra GREVILLE-WILLIAMS (b 1959 reg Q2 London).

The Gascoignes are descendants of the banker Abel  Smith via his son John Smith.  The Gascoignes are also descended from a sister of the international financier J. Pierpont Morgan (1837-1913).

Bridget Buxton, wife of Hon.Reuben Pleydell-Bouverie (death notice this week), and the present Earl of Oxford & Asquith (Palairet discussion earlier this week) also Abel Smith descendants.
