From the Telegraph of 26 Nov 2024: The engagement is announced between George, son of Mr Simon Carter and Mrs Pam Garside, and Rosie, daughter of Mr and Mrs Rick Hayward.

I take the prospective bride to be Rosaleen Catriona Sitwell b 1993 only dau of Richard Anthony HAYWARD (s of Sir Jack Hayward OBE) and Alexandra Isobel Susanna Edith b 1958 d of Sir Sacheverell Reresby SITWELL 7th Bt 1927-2009 and Penelope FORBES b 1923 gd of 7th Earl of GRANARD 1833-89, gt gd of 12th Baron PETRE 1817-84, 3xgt gd 6th Baron CLIFFORD OF CHUDLEIGH, 4xgt gd of 8th Baron ARUNDELL OF WARDOUR 1740-1808, etc etc.

Regarding S R Eglesfield's statement:  "Simon St Clair Carter was previously married, in 1977, to Annabel M DEVAS (born 1954), of that landed gentry family,  by whom he had a son, Edward St Clair CARTER (birth registered Q1 1981 - Bristol) and a daughter, Sophie Lilian M CARTER (birth registered November 1993 - Hammersmith)."

Please note that this is factually incorrect. Simon St Clair Carter and  Annabel M DEVAS had one child -  Edward St Clair CARTER, as mentioned.  Annabel M DEVAS subsequently remarried Keith Clarke (myself), and they had two children. The first was Sophie Lilian Merryday CLARKE  (birth registered November 1993 - Hammersmith).

I should be grateful if S R Eglesfield would correct the inaccurate statement.
