Agree on the Wallace Ross book "Sail Power".
There's lots of adjustments to tweak. Halyard tension, backstay (headstay sag), mainsail trim (don't choke off the slot...) but the low hanging fruit for the genoa as you sail deeper angles is probably moving the genoa car forward on the track? That helps control the top of the genoa which is twisting off as you ease the sheet. The correct position of the car for a broad reach is probably several feet forward of the upwind position.
