This is probably an item I need to fabricate, but the door on my mast that covers the side of the track broke off. (this is where slides can be inserted) Does anyone know if there are replacements available?

Dont know where you can buy one.  Let us know if you find a source. A "weld on" aluminum or stainless hinge might work with some bending.   They dont have screw holes.
You could use a screw to hold it shut?

My slide gate is pretty sloppy/worn and could stand to be replaced.

Google "weld on hinge".
There are a lot of choices.

They aren't.   This is all new-old-stock.  Get 'em while they last if there really are any left.

Thats crazy expensive, considering it really doesnt work well on my boat.   A piece of stainless or even easier, aluminum, bent into a curve with rounded corners might be more practical.   Use two screws to attach and forget about it.

I wonder if your sail slides will still snag on it.

Also, that's 15% of the way to a Tides Marine Strong Track.

I agree! It's not a part that tales any stress.

The only way it would get loaded is if a sail slug happened to sit right on it and you were on port tack and it was quite windy.  That's pretty unlikely but possible?  And even if it doesn't at full hoist it might with a reef.  If I were getting a new main I would double check that.  But it's a pretty easy thing to avoid?   A savy sailmaker should be on top of that.

Snag...I doubt it.  Whoever installed the original gate on my boat was a bit off on the location which causes problems.   But the original gate is also a bit short.   I think its about 2 1/2 inches tall?

Ill roll a square of aluminum and bring it to the boat and just clamp it to the mast to try it out.
