Does anyone know what the latest is on Camp Pendleton bike passes is?

The visitor center looks to have closed.

I found this information on reddit from 3 months ago. It looks like it is not worth the trouble. You have to get a pass early and know someone on base. And from other comments it is just fine to ride the i-5 through that area because of the wide shoulder and the bottleneck (slow traffic).
