Greetings to you all,

I'm new to Payara, I set up my Payara server by following the instructions in this link https://www.lyonlabs.org/howto/howdoi-payara.html

After I'm done, I started the server successfully and http://aabbcc.com:8080 opened successfully in the browser but on the contrary, http://aabbcc.com:4848 did not open the admin page but rather displays the following message in Mozilla:

The connection has timed out

The server at aabbcc.com is taking too long to respond.

The site could be temporarily unavailable or too busy. Try again in a few moments.
If you are unable to load any pages, check your computer’s network connection.
If your computer or network is protected by a firewall or proxy, make sure that Firefox is permitted to access the Web.

Please, I will need someone to help me out.

Many thanks

If you are trying to access your admin console remotely, you will need to enable secure admin.

Your admin user will need to have a password which you can set with asadmin change-admin-password if needed.
Once you have an admin user with a password, you can use asadmin enable-secure-admin to turn on secure admin. This means that you will need to go over https to get to your admin console.
After you enable secure admin, you will need to restart your domain for the change to take effect: asadmin restart-domain

The error you're getting suggests that Firefox can't reach port 4848, so make sure that the port is not blocked by any firewall.

Mr Croft is correct: if you want to log into the admin console remotely, you will need to enable secure admin.   However, being unable to reach the admin console at all is a sign either of a network problem (firewalls, etc) or some startup failure in the payara's web component.   I'd guess it was network-related.

Many thanks for your kind response.

I finally decided to move on without the admin console, so i resulted into doing everything via CLI and all has been well since then.

Thanks once again
