Job Title: Tech PM 3 (Cameras)
Location: Redmond, WA
Duration: 6-12 Months
Responsibilities:
The camera software PM role requires experience in delivery of user
experience and related technology for mobile/PC consumer electronics products,
ideally with a background in camera or computer vision technology. We need
someone with experience working at the intersection of user experience and
computer vision and/or machine learning, taking features from initial concepts
to a fully specified designs with known risks, cost, and schedule.
The PM will work closely with internal/external PM and development teams to
deliver the design and user experience of specific camera enabled features.
• Deliver Surface camera programs by working cross-discipline teams in hardware/software features development
• Work with PM and development teams to create end-to-end customer experience goals, feature specifications, performance/quality metrics, production plans, and program reporting.
• Manage program schedules, deliverables, scorecards, execution plans, bugs triage and investigations. • Help identify program risks and issues, and work with the teams to identify timely and actionable mitigations
• Organize and present program reviews/status/recommendations to engineering, business leaders, and senior management.
• Collaborate with OS, platforms, applications, and research teams to plan and drive feature roadmaps and delivery into Surface products
• Help define multi-year camera and imaging pipeline technology roadmaps spanning both software and hardware; own and manage the feature backlog including scenarios and feature health.
• Establish and manage strong working relationships with domestic and international partners
• Some meetings with international teams required outside of normal office hours
Qualifications:
• Experience working on consumer/enterprise application development through full ship-cycle
• Experience driving software program in imaging, computer vision or rendering field.
• Experience shipping a product that features AI/ML based algorithm(s).
• Experience specifying, breaking down and scheduling product features that have a level of ambiguity associated with them.
• Strong cross-group collaboration with focus on solving complex problems; ability to deal with ambiguity, detail-oriented, operate autonomously and working in prioritized manners.
• Strong communication skills written and verbal; ability to understand/distill complex technical information/situations and communicate to non-experts.
• 2+ years’ experience in program and project management to ship consumer or enterprise class products
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science, computer engineering or a related field
Preferred/additional Qualification
• Ideal candidate will have experience taking camera imaging features or similar through product release.
• Working knowledge of mobile camera subsystems.
• Familiarity with mobile image processing pipeline and software stack, Windows and/or Android camera architecture.
