Position: SR Data Engineer

Location: Remote 100%

Duration: 6 Months C2H

 

What you'll do:

As a Data Engineer, you are part of the product development team.  We develop end-to-end solutions that run data science as a service (DSaaS) and deliver Insights.  Our engineers use large-scale data computing frameworks and Web technologies including (but not limited to) PySpark, Python, Flask, SQL and Angular to develop products and services in the cloud.

 

 

Minimum Skills Required:   

• Bachelor’s degree (typically in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, Business Analytics or another technically strong program), plus 2 years of experience
• Proven Python development experience
• Proven Big Data development experience with Apache Spark (PySpark)
• Experience in developing in REST APIs in python (Flask preferred)
• Exposure to development in cloud (Azure preferred, GCP/AWS okay)
• Experience developing with SQL (Postgres, Oracle, SQL Server, or any)
• Exposure to VCS (Git, SVN) and CI/CD processes
• Understanding of Agile Principles (Scrum)

 

Key Responsibilities

 

• This includes external facing and internal applications as well as process improvement activities such as:
• Participate in design of Data solutions in the Cloud
• Perform development of Python/Pyspark and SQL based solutions
• Perform unit and integration testing
• Partner with senior resources in peer reviews and pair programming
• Participate in retrospective reviews
• Participate in the estimation process for new work and releases
