API MANAGEMENT DEVELOPER & ARCHITECT JOB – CONTRACT TO HIRE BY CLIENT

CLIENT NOTES:
1. Pay-terms: C2H; 6 months on C2C and then Fulltime hire on W2
2. Prefer visa independent candidates
3. We are open to look into senior developer profiles as well but need someone with multiple platform experience in various tools of API like Cloud/Tibco/Mulesoft/APIGEE/IBM or any similar area
4. Need someone with atleast 10+ years of total experience


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: (LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS CAPABLE OF DOING ATLEAST A COUPLE OF THE FOLLOWING)
1. The API Architect – API Management Platform will be responsible for defining the strategy and roadmap for the implementation of the global API-centric integration approach; The approach must drive simplification of the integration landscape and delivery of value-added services.
2. The roadmap will address the technology implementation, organizational operating model, and principles and guidelines for building and managing APIs; The roadmap must also address implications to the existing environment, rationalization of current integration platforms, and a sequence of API delivery; Support API platform and API related activities including requirement analysis, resource-based API modeling and Microservice architecture
3. Experience in development of API's using various technologies and exposure to API management; Knowledge about API standards, patterns, best practices and security implementation; Experience in developing/onboarding API's using IBM API Connect-Developer portal
4. Create high-level and low-level detail design documents for API Connect, WebSphere MQ, IBM WebSphere Message Broker and DataPower initiatives; Support the development of business cases for upgrades or the introduction of new integration technologies; Provide weekly status updates and prepare technical reports and briefings concerning system related problems and corrections
5. Support developers and testers throughout the application development lifecycle; Training other members of team on API Connect as needed; Analysis, design, development, and delivery of Microservices APIs; Act within a cross-functional, scrum-based team focused on agile and continuous software delivery; Support production systems and troubleshoot system defects to remediate issues and ensure system operational stability and availability; Demonstrate highly effective communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.


REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE: (LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WHO IS CAPABLE OF DOING ATLEAST A COUPLE OF THE FOLLOWING)
1. Ability to define and articulate enterprise strategy and architecture; Hands-on experience delivering one or more of the following API Management Platforms – MuleSoft AnyPoint, CA API Gateway,  Cloud API Management; Strong knowledge of integration and web services, especially RESTful APIs
2. Prefer integration experience; Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in API management platforms and API related activities: requirement analysis, solution architecture and design, resource-based API modeling, micro-services architecture
3. Must have experience in developing APIs, Proxies, API Assembly, API Implementations using Node.Js and JAVA; Lifecycle and governance for APIs, Products, and Plans; Must have used DataPower and microgateway as gateway to deploy APIs; (DEV, QA, and PROD), new hosts, adding and configuring adapters, performance optimization, service level management,
4. Experience in configuring APIC portal and customizing developer Portal; Knowledge and experience designing and implementing SOA and API Governance;  Experience in API and Microservice support and development; Experience on onboarding and implementing all the modules/policy of API Connect services


ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES:
1. Capacity management and availability management.
2. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in API security standards and implementation
3. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in threat protection, SQL Injection, CORS, Cross siting, LDAP Integration
4. Deep knowledge and hands-on experience in testing API, PEN test, vulnerability test
5. Knowledge about API design standards, patterns and best-practices


EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
1. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or other technical discipline, or equivalent work experience, is preferred
