Job Description:

 

• Under general supervision and guidance, the Senior IT Systems DBA is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex Database systems software at multiple Clinic sites.
• The Senior IT Systems DBA will actively monitor and respond to technical database problems utilizing diagnostic testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall database capacity.
• He/she may interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance.
• The Senior IT Systems DBA will also be required to produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by the work unit leadership; develops proposals that consider alternatives and business case gains needed for comprehensive institutional consideration; works effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders.
• Work is reviewed upon completion for quality, timeliness, and adequacy in meeting objectives.
• Ability to take responsibility and accountability for own activities. Possesses ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately.
• Must possess human relations skills to interact with a variety of personnel.
• Evidence of strong communication & organizational skills, project management skills, strong communication and meeting management and organizational skills.
• Performs consulting tasks, acts as an information resource and mentor in a supportive role.
