I can attest that VARA runs very well and reliably on the Pi4B using the install scripts developed by WheezyE.

The only linux mail client i can find to work with VARA is LinBPQ/Linmail, but is overly complex and cumbersome to use a powerful BBS, only as a mail client.

VARA support added to PAT would be most welcomed!!

Thanks for your interest, folks. We (the Pat developers) would love to see this happen, too! There's an ongoing discussion at https://github.com/la5nta/pat/issues/228 and some preliminary work at https://github.com/n8jja/Pat-Vara. It'll take a little time, but it's in the works.

Built the PAT vara branch several days ago on pi4b with VARA built with via Winelink script and it works perfectly!  Only thing i could not get to work is running with signalink/VOX, but utilizing CAT via rigctld, etc works FB  73 kevin K3TL
