Hi,

I tried connected to the servers that was mentioned in the assignment page, "asb9840u-b01.csil.sfu.ca|asb9840u-b02.csil.sfu.ca|asb9840u-b03.csil.sfu.ca", but I am unable to connect.
I tried ssh'ing directly to the server from my computer and ssh into an SFU server like "fraser.sfu.ca" then sshing into csil, but both methods do not work and does not even prompt for the password.
I'm wondering if the provided server names are the correct ones or if the data breach affected our logins?

Thank you

Neither. IT services have been informed.
Even I am not able to acess those machine.
Are you able to access other machines in CSIL ?

Did you try with -p 24.

Yup i've been using port 24.

But, it seems to let me connect, but when I made sure to enter in my password correctly it still says permission denied. I've been getting this error since the data breach and with me changing my password, but sometimes I get lucky and it lets me through sometimes it doesn't.

I experience the same thing as Andy ever since the breach. Most of the time I am unable to ssh into the servers because I keep getting permission denied, however, once in a while, I get lucky and it lets me connect.

Your account get locked every few minutes, most likely because your old credentials are saved somewhere and keep accessing and failing.

They pointed to this page https://www.sfu.ca/itservices/notices/march22020/frequently-asked-questions.html, but in short, it could be anything form saved wifi credentials, MAC OS keeping old keychains, basically anything that's SFU CAS authenticated and repetitively accesses it in a short period of time.
