Wanted to mention also that Rocketship games will not be at our June launch . You may want  too take that into consideration when attending the launch this weekend .         See you there , Ken 🌽🚜🚀🚀

Has everyone seen the Safety Bulletin on Estes E12 engines? It is for all delays. The listed engine codes are 2K12533600 and 2132530300. Estes is asking for photos showing the engines being disposed of by water soaking. Once your claim is accepted, Estes will issue merchandise credit for the value of the engines. The details and a claim form are on the Estes website.

Thanks for mentioning it. I was not aware of this. Luckily, I don't have any of those lot numbers.
These problems, recalls, etc are getting frustrating.
I do wish Estes would give us some motors with more thrust, like the E60 FSI had years back.
Composite motors are too hard to ignite in clusters.

I googled the safety bulletin and found several. I take it that Estes stopped making engines years ago and everything comes from China.
I remember in the old "Model Rocket News" they would showcase a different department each edition. Nose cones, body tubes, engines, etc. I watched a YouTube video a while back that showed the inside of Estes Industries, and all those "departments" and now filled with cardboard boxes of inventory from China.

While I was on the Estes site looking for the bulletin I saw they had a kit of Robert Goddard's first rocket. It caught my eye because I was thinking of making one. The kit that Estes sells is a little piece of plastic junk and the price is $32. Very disappointing.

Estes still manufacture rocket motors in Penrose, CO.  Some of their plastic parts for models come from China though.

Mike,

Glad you mentioned the Estes kit.  I was going to build one if I ever get healthy.  Complete with the launch tower.  Still on my bucket list.

Estes still makes engines in Penrose. Lately they've changed suppliers for casings and that is where the problems are coming from - what is being supplied is out of spec.

Mike,

That's about what I had in mind.   If I get around to it, I'll let you know what I am coming up with.

Thanks - JKH
