Two Important Pain Seminars this week - Thurs 11:30 NINDS Program Officer; Fri noon PhD defense on integrative therapy for pain

Hi All,

Two great events this week. 

Tomorrow (Thursday) 11:30am in Maurice Falk Lecture Hall in Mellon Hall. Dr Lauren Ullrich, a program officer from NIH/NINDS, will be presenting a seminar of “Tips and Tricks for NIH fellowships.”  This is relevant to folks at all levels. 

Friday 12pm Wolf Lecture Hall Bayer Learning Center Anna Polaski (phd candidate Kolber lab) will be presenting her public dissertation presentation “Characterization of the effect of exercise dose and integrative nonpharmacological therapies in the treatment of chronic pain.” Party for Anna will be at 3pm 2nd floor Mellon Hall.

We have our first Pain/Neuroscience seminar/journal club of the summer on Tuesday May 28 at 11:30-12:30 in Bayer 101A. (FYI - Dr. Lewter will be speaking with some undergraduate researchers 11-11:30am so please wait outside the room until 11:30am).

Dr. Keisha Lewter (Post-doc Kolber Lab) will present a seminar entitled "The analgesic profile of novel positive allosteric modulators of the GABAa receptor”. 

If you are interested in reading up beforehand, attached is an article by Dr. Lewter.

I am not sure if there will be food available so please plan on bringing your own lunch.
