Dear Google support,

My case with this website https://www.vas.edu.vn/ is hard to understand. Even though pagespeed tool state that "Although the page could be more optimized it is probably unnecessary", the optimization score for desktop is 49/100 (???). The page loads fast within second, so I cannot understand why we got this score for the page.

We usually rely on pagespeed insight tool to get approval from clients for website completion. Therefore, I need to understand what make this score that low. Please help me review with the case and help us with what to improve to make the score higher.

Thank you

Try other tools. They say the same thing.

My impression? You have a heavy page (3 mb) with too many requests (73) that takes 5 seconds to load.
You don't have visible content until 2 seconds into the page.

From the about page: https://developers.google.com/speed/docs/insights/about

"Speed Score: PageSpeed Insights incorporates data from the Chrome User Experience Report (CrUX) to display real-world performance data about a page. "

"Optimization Score: PageSpeed Insights evaluates how well a page follows common performance best practices and computes a score from 0-100 that estimates its performance headroom. It evaluates if a page can improve its performance in two areas:
  • time to above-the-fold load: Elapsed time from the moment a user requests a new page to the moment the above-the-fold content is rendered by the browser.
  • time to full page load: Elapsed time from the moment a user requests a new page to the moment the page is fully rendered by the browser."

In this case, I believe PSI is saying "your page already is fast" (in the top 33%, based on real-world data, which may be good enough for your clients).

There are opportunities for improvement,  although as the tool notes, further optimization is probably not necessary unless you're trying to be even faster than the page already is.

Hi ,

I see the site loads fast but not optimised properly .

Still there are scope to optimise on server response time, images and basically caching is poor. If this was not intentional, correcting these would get the optimisation scores to 90 to 95%.

If you still need support , feel free to mail me at in...@hansoftech.com .

Regards,

Shivi
