Would like to capture metadata for the hyper-v built linux centos8 image,

how to provision this ?

What kind of metadata? If you need to run a powershell command against hyper-v to get information, I recommend the shell-local provisioner.

Hi Megan,

Found the post-processors manifest type, which would solve metadata, coming back to the info you provided,

possible to run powershell(locally) against hyperv during the provisioner stage? am trying to insert a static ip during that process!

Yes, it's possible using the shell-local provisioner. If you look at the usage examples, you will find a powershell example here: https://packer.io/docs/provisioners/shell-local.html#windows-host
