can we get a latest link in your downloads area so when automating we can always get the latest released version instead of having to update the path to specific versions as you all release?

 You can go to https://www.packer.io/downloads.html and click " download other versions of Packer" 

There are all previous and current release you can access from. V1.3.2 is the latest version, I think.

That's not what he's asking for. He's asking for the link to be https://releases.hashicorp.com/packer/latest and have it consistently point to the latest version, so he never has to go and manually navigate to that page and pick the latest version.

I agree that what he's asking for is useful. Consider this my vote for that request! 😁

correct, I'm you can pass a version number to make things easier, isn't it? URL is already pretty much consistent for that reason.
