ssh: handshake failed: ssh: unable to authenticate, attempted methods - VMware iso build failed

Trying to create VMware packer image, and getting below error message. Please help.


Build 'vmware-iso' errored: Failed creating VMware driver: Unable to initialize any driver for this platform. The errors

from each driver are shown below. Please fix at least one driver to continue:

* ssh: handshake failed: ssh: unable to authenticate, attempted methods [none keyboard-interactive], no supported methods remain

 

Environment:

·         Running the JSON from Windows 2016

·         Remote Host is Esxi 6.0

·         Trying to build Windows 2016 VM

·         Enabled ‘SSH’ from vSphere ‘Security Profile’

·         Modified ESXi host firewall to allow port ‘5900’ to ‘6000’

·         JSON attached

You are using an ancient Packer version please upgrade. Try again and attach a new log file if you still have problems.

I am sorry If I am missing anything but I was using the latest version "Packer v1.3.2-dev" .
Please check.

Oh, sorry opened the wrong Packer log. I have too many packer logs in my download dir. I'll have a look at the correct file.

What happens if you ssh to you ESXi:

ssh -vvl <remote_username> <remote_host>

Using the <remote_password> what's the output of that?

From the logs it looks like your ESXi is asking for something more:

Hi Muthu,

I am looking assistance from you for build Windows server 2016 using packer tool.

I have ps1 script files with me but upload and run the same Azure cloud, Please help me to how I need to use the packer tool build the custom OS.
