Hi,

New to Packer.

I want to automate the creation of a number of CentOS Atomic VMs on VCenter 6.0 and to automate the install with Kickstart file

First off does this make sense? Is there an existing Packer template to do this?

Hi,

That totally makes sense, or at least to create VM templates for those VMs.

I don't have any ESXi templates at hand but a quick search on github found me these that looks right:
If you start by getting them to run on your system, and if you have access to VMware Workstation/Fusion it can be simpler to start without the remote part (ESXi). After you have those running I think you can easily fork them and change to Atomic instead.

When you got started and stumble on something. Just send a follow up message.
