Best template for creating a windows machine using Hyper-V

Hi all,

 

I am wondering what the best template available for Creating a Windows 10 professional machine using Hyper-V with packer is? Also, are there any vagrant boxes available with WinRm enabled and all updates installed?

Any help appreciated.

https://github.com/boxcutter/windows has arguably the most complete and well-maintained base Packer templates that you will find for Windows. You can easily build yourself a Vagrant (or other) image using these.

https://app.vagrantup.com/boxes/search is the best place to look for specific Windows boxes. It's a little tricky when it comes to Windows because any boxes on Vagrant Cloud would have to be rebuilt and replaced on a regular basis as the trial license expires.

The Boxcutter templates are a great place to start to build your own image with all updates and WinRM configured to your liking. FYI Windows updates will take quite a bit of time to complete when you build the image.
