Domain Controller AMI

Has anyone built a template for Deploy Active Directory Domain Services? I'm new to Packer and don't want to waste my time trying if there is something obvious about not doing it.

Probably not a good idea as there are some unique ids being created when building a domain controller. Having this shared in an image can cause all sorts of problems.

Jordan, thank you for your response. Today I deploy from a pre-built DC anyways, after further research I doubt it's going to cause problems. Keep in mind, this is for testing in isolated VPCs. There would not be a situation where more than 1 DC would be deployed in the same network from the same AMI. I'll be sure to share my results here for other demo environment builders!

I have been having a nightmare of a time trying to do this for Virtualbox and DSC with xActiveDirectory due to reboots, winrm and timeouts.

There was a suggestion to do the installation using Autounattend.xml, but I have not been able to replicate a build successfully.
