packer environment question - newbie

Hi All,

I want to use packer and ansible combination to have image build pipeline. 

When I run the basic simple build file for the build images for virtual box and AWS. I am able to do it successfully.

Now I want to do the setup with jenkins for the images of vmware , AWS and docker.

So to create such build environment what are the prerequisites packe expects on the host where it is running?

My Questions are below

• Docker should be installed to create docker images?
• Any tools should be installed to create vmware images?

Yes it requires docker and VMware installed on the build slaves/nodes. And also Ansible if you are using the ansible provisioner answer not ansible-local.

If you are using VMware Player there are some additional requirements, see the docs.

Running ansible + docker can be a bit tricky and might require a development build from master or waiting for 0.11.0 which should be released soon.
