Ubuntu 18.04 server build stuck @looking for username and password

when i check the build progress in vmware console ,
installation window stuck at looking form user details.
not sure if my preseed file data is getting fed to the template.
need help!

You are missing {{ .HTTPPort }} in your boot_command:

I have added the {{ .HTTPPort }} in your boot_command. Still issue persists. PFA the screenshot.

I did some quick tests, some pointers:

1) dos2unix all you files.

2) For some reason you boot_command doesn't work correctly, replacing it with chef/bento's boot_command and setting the correct preseed_path and it works. https://github.com/chef/bento/blob/master/ubuntu/ubuntu-18.04-amd64.json#L5-L27

3) Still after this shutdown_command fails for some reason.

I am still not having any luck gettig thru !!! set users and password windows while installation.
i have used chef/bento's boot_command, also added HTTPPort.
