Hi! Could you determine a date when the community can await the new Packer version?

You can review past releases to have an idea of the cadence:

and you can check milestones to see if the issue/PR you are after is included for the next version:


You can also help to test the new features or build from master until the release is done:

I am sure Matt or Meghan will reply soon with an estimate for the next release, can you share what PR/Issue are you after?

Thank you for your answer.

Yes, I'm waiting very useful function `clean_image_name`. 


But I'm confused that in the Packer isn't a way to replace special characters in the variable. I think it would be easier using something like: 

"myvar": "{{ env `VERSION` | repalace('.', '-') }}". What do you think about this?
