how to log time spent in connect via get(XA)Connection

Is it possible in 2.1.4 to get a p6spy logging for that case?

I have a case where most of the time is spent in opening connection to the db(btw in Oracle negotiateConnection - seeing that via profiling).  

If not, can i log an enhancement issue?

Unfortunately, getting the connection is one of the few things that we don't log.  Yes, you can certainly open an enhancement request for one.
