Hi folks,
After the past few years of living in Owatonna it is time for my little family to move to get closer to family (so I can keep biking as I add another little one to the family ;) ). When I started biking I had two bikes; one cobbled together road bike and another 90’s mountain bike that I promptly crashed in front of the bike group I had just joined. Ive come a long way since then but one thing that I can’t take with me as I move are the wonderful people of the Owatonna bike club. I remember my first ride with you all, a coffee grind to Caribou. I thought “I’ll take the lead for a bit” and swiftly got dropped. I was embarrassed beyond all belief but I kept showing up and kept finding myself having a wonderful time on our coffee breaks, or the quick regroups and stories that accompanied them. From impromptu invitations to go mountain biking at Cuyuna, to an amazing trip to Moab, and every other small event, I have memories that will remain with me for the rest of my life and it’s all thanks to the people of OBC.
So that brings me to this, if you are free next Thursday at 5:45, I would like to have one more social ride with some of the people I have come to call friends. We’ll do a lap of Kaplan’s and then run out to grab something to eat and drink. You’ll need lights! If it rains, well, I’d still like to grab a bite.
Thank you all the miles and smiles,
Drew Kidd
