Kgalagadi TP

A short summary of our visit so far :

1- left the eastern cape on the 8th May  but could not camp at buffels baai near knysna due to weather/ rain having damaged the camp sites ;  overnight at cabana beach room in sedgdefdield                      

2- 2x nights at hartenbos - very good all systems working ; maintenance is visible everywhere

3- moved to gansbaai and had a storm for 2 days and nights  of heavy rain and wind ; but excellent camping at strandskloof caravan park

4- spent 4 days with friends at somerset west and visited Stellenbosch and Delheim wines 

5- spent 2 days at melkebosstrand and visited langabaan and the westcoast NP ; ou skip caravan park old and lacking maintenance but good location .

6- travelled via the N7 and R27 and overnight at brandvlei ( good and very safe for car and caravan at Steenbok lodge )

7-moved up to tweerivirien in the Kgalagadi TP ( good challet accommodation). : poor south dune road with heavy corruption in places 

8- moved to Mata Mata(MM)  for 4 days and had an unusual great sighting of a stand off / confrontation of an africa wild cat with a jackal at sitzas water hole; diesel at R35.63 / l 50ppm; water at R30 .90/ 5 l ;wood at R49.90 / bag ; gin London dry at R289.99 (for 750 ml bottle ) !!!  Baronne nederberg at R147....!!!🧐 NB - new picnic site with toilets  at fourteen water hole 

9- at nossob camp site now for a total of 5 nights ; great sighting of lion at the hide and calls during the nights and early mornings;  diesel at same price that MM ; all other items mentioned above with same prices.;namaqua shiraz at R82 ; NB - new pic nic spot with toilets at bedannk ! 

10- tyre pressures for Nissan x trail  1,6 Tekna 4x4 -1.6 bar ; Trailvan 1.5 bar ; leaving for 2R on the 2nd / june ; overnight at kambro ( britstown ) and final leg  mountain zebra NP on the 4th June! 

If there are any major issues with road conditions / traffic I would appreciate if you could kindly advise !

Item 7.0  Was there a toll gate in place?

Thanks for feed back.  Gives my ideas on how to travel after I move to the Southern Cape,  Love the KTP

There is the reception area ; u have to stop and do ur documents entry then proceed to camping or challet , then when u go thru to the road to north of tweerivirien u have to open and close that gate of course ( there were people who witness young Lions in camp once ) ; rgds JF

Hi Joao  I should have inserted a smiley. Your note refers to “heavy corruption in places”.  I assume you meant corrugations.:-)  But the regulars to KTP love these roads as they keep day trippers and plebs away form the park.

Yes sorry I meant corrugations but my cell phone opted for corruptions ... ; on a serious note it was really heavy going ! Quite a challenge  since u concentrate on the road  rather than the game viewing ; I put the continental tyres lx2 225/65/17 at 1.6 bar and 4x4 mode all the time ;
