Suggested route Midrand to Vryburg

Hi all, I need to get to Vryburg from Midrand, a few km further or shorter is not the issue, just want to use the better road conditions as I have not been in that direction for a while.

 

1.     via Klerksdorp, Ottosdal, Delareyville, Vryburg

2.     or via Klerksdorp, Wolmaransstad, Schweizer-Reneke, Vryburg

3.     or via Krugersdorp, Ventersdorp, Coligny, Delareyville, Vryburg

 

Thereafter from Vryburg to Springbok is long and easy J

Hi Renzo

I did the Ventersdorp, Coligny, Delaryville but turned of between Delareyville and Vryburg to Stella about a month ago. 

Road was in relative good condition.  Know they haxdsome hassles closer to Vryburg but I assume it is fixed by now.

Renzo,

I use no 3 every time.  Last time was last month.  

The road between Vryburg and Kuruman has 2 stop/go's due to flood damage. Not long waiting time.  

In Vryburg and Kuruman don't stop in town.

At Vryburg use the route in the picture to avoid the dangerous part of town.

I came back via route 2 in Jan, the stretch through Klerkdorp takes a while, quite a few traffic lights and they are not synchronised.

and the bit between Klerkdorp and Potch can be a bit busy, the rest of the road was good and easy going.

Route 3 is the shortest and quickest route.

Jean,

Incidents where tourists being robbed while driving through Vryburg and Kuruman.

I was not a victim yet, but I don't stop there and don't use the main road in Vryburg for some time now.

They come close to the vehicle and try the door handles, if it opens they grab anything they can find and run into the crowd, this is in Vryburg and Kuruman, be very alert driving through those towns.

Not sure if you have left yet but there is a nice detour on the proposed route that skips Klerksdorp. It is the default suggestion when punching in Wolmaransstad from Ventersdorp in Google Maps.

For feedback we took the Ventersdorp route as suggested and it was in good condition. Sunday’s drive to Springbok was great and quiet, yesterday was a lot busier with many ore carrier trucks.
